With over 10 years experience living and working throughout Southern Africa, Britt and Cardo Kleberg provide customized adventures: Bringing you closer to the wildlife, the people, and the romance of Africa.

With a degree in Zoology from University of Texas, Britt traveled to South Africa in 1991 as a young woman with hopes of working the African Bush. After working at the Johannesburg Zoo for a short period, she moved on to a marketing company and then settled at Motswari Lodge in the Timbavati region near the Kruger National Park. Britt’s next opportunity came as a position opened for a manager at Nxamaseri Lodge in the panhandle of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. After two years, she then moved over to Wilderness Safaris as a camp manager.

Britt and CardoCardo first traveled to Botswana in 1994 to work with Britt as a fly fishing guide at Nxamaseri Lodge and horse safari guide at Okavango Horse Safaris. Later that year, he moved back to Dallas, Texas to work in the Real Estate Development business.

In 1996, Britt moved home from Botswana to San Antonio, Texas. Cardo and Britt were married in 1998 and two weeks after the wedding, moved back to Botswana to work for Wilderness Safaris. As the only Americans employed by Wilderness, the first 4 years were spent at Duba Plains Camp, managing all aspects of camp life and guiding international travelers from all over the globe. After Duba, Britt and Cardo worked as relief managers and helped build lodges, train staff, set up systems, and open new lodges for business. When they were not working in the bush, Britt and Cardo spent their remaining time traveling to far reaches of the African Continent, Asia, South America, and the Indian Ocean.

Britt and Cardo presently live in San Antonio, Texas and continue to create and guide tours to the most remote areas of the Okavango Delta, the deserts of Namibia, jungles of Uganda, plains of Tanzania, beaches of Zanzibar, and the peaks of Kilimanjaro.

Their hands on knowledge of the lodges, climate, wildlife behavior, guides, and lodge availability, keep them abreast of the safari industry, providing hopeful travelers with accurate information. This unique situation allows them to build the perfect safari for those curious travelers who are looking for an eclectic journey of old.

For over a 15 years, they have been booking trips, as well as guiding and hosting naturalist, photographers, and wildlife enthusiast from all over the world. Britt and Cardo invite you to explore a place so few of us truly know beyond the pages of National Geographic and the Discovery channel, where a balance a comfort, exclusivity and genuine atmosphere insure an all around wilderness experience.
